After 24 festivals, we are moving on to new adventures in 2022. Thank you to everyone who was a part of our festival over the years. We love you all!
WE ARE KEEPING OUR "ATHENA ONLINE" PAGE UP, so you can access many of our vendors and readers online. |
Dear Athena Festival family,
Seventeen years ago... in July, 2004, we launched our first Athena Festival at the Embassy Suites hotel on Hampden Ave. by Tamarac Square. It was a magical day, and a humble beginning for what would become one of the state's most popular metaphysical gatherings. For a while, we ran two a year, before settling on our annual early November date. We've hosted 24 Athena Festivals to date. And after much deliberation, we've decided to retire the Festival.
Why? As is usually the case with big decisions, there were several factors at play:
So - I just wanted to THANK YOU ALL - SO MUCH - for all of your love and support over the years! I'm sure our paths will cross again! And I know you all have plenty of resources to get the answers you need and the connections you need.
If you're looking for other metaphysical/spiritual fairs in the area, here are some options:
Body Mind Spirit Expos - several Colorado dates
Belu Olisa Holistic Fairs - in Northern Colorado
Pueblo Holistic Fair - in early November
And if you're wondering what my next adventure is... (and I KNOW many of you will love it), you can check out our Cat Fest Colorado Facebook page.
... I just realized the perfect symbolism that last night, my granddaughter, Athena, who was named after this festival, graduated from High School, and is ready to start the next chapter of her life. It does seem like a great time to be thankful for what we've accomplished and start something new.
Thanks so much to everyone who was part of it.
love,

Why? As is usually the case with big decisions, there were several factors at play:
- Our hotel has raised the rates again - second time since the remodel - and we can no longer afford the location we've enjoyed for 16 years.
- I can't find a suitable new location, despite lots of searching and negotiation.
- The metaphysical audience is being well-served in Colorado. Our state is awesome and enlightened. Vendors and attendees have a variety of other places to go.
- I'm launching a new event in early November that will take up my planning time.
